Jo is catching on to this walking thing that everyone else always seems to be doing.  However, she is still content to crawl-- it is faster by far.

Introducing Karl the Car

Elijah can finally be the driver whenever he wants.  He already washed Karl, no wax.

Back in Idaho

After a whirlwind month of May, we are finally back in Idaho.  With heavy hearts we left our beloved Minnesota, and headed west.  Oscar graduated from University of St. Thomas with a Juris Doctorate on May 10th.  We have many pictures of  the exciting event, but here is just one of us all healthy and whole--in Idaho.  We miss St. Paul!  Hello to all our friends back there--we can't wait to come visit.

Elijah's Birthday & Jo Sits Up

Life at our house is hectic in these last weeks in Minnesota.  Oscar has two finals and then graduates from law school.  Christina will work her last shift on Saturday.  But the real work is just starting.  We have a place to rent in Boise, but we still have to put all our possessions in a moving van and drive from MN to ID.  More difficult is putting all the memories of our dear friends in our hearts to take with us.  We never expected to become so attached to the Twin Cities.

We realize that everyone is busy, we want to share some of the big events coming up in our lives the next few weeks.
  • Elijah is now two years old.
  • Jo has decided to sit up.
  • Osk will graduate law school and start to help with the packing.
  • Christina will finish work at her hospital.
  • Grandpa and Grammy have come for a last visit to MN (and will move to Boise in June).
  • Uncle Luke will be here for a visit soon (he has not met Jo in person).
  • Grams and Gramps will come for graduation and then help us drive to ID.
Somewhere in all this we want to find time to say proper goodbyes to our MN friends and neighbors, and we probably should return our library books.

Here are few photos that we snapped this weekend.  Elijah is very excited to have a Thomas the Train set.  This morning, Grandpa taught Jo to sit up!

Today, the Octave day of Easter also known as Divine Mercy Sunday, we have a temperature spike in the Twin Cities, crossing the 50 degree barrier.   Elijah, anxious to break in his new galoshes, took advantage of the weather with a leisurely stroll with his pop around the block. He discovered numerous puddles; spied an airplane or two; found a suitable hockey stick; and threw some snowballs.  Sadly, Como Lake is still frozen, and the forecast for tomorrow and the FIRST DAY of APRIL is for snow.

This day is a great one for our family.  We have received numerous miracles through the Divine Mercy devotion.  We have a framed picture of the above image over our home's dining table.

At mass today, the priest taught us that God does not shower us with his mercy because we are lovable, but because our Triune God made an irrevocable choice to love us.  God does not withhold his mercy from us, it is we who withdraw ourselves from his mercy. How fitting that the great eight day Feast of Easter, which is the celebration of the ultimate act of mercy, closes with Divine Mercy Sunday. Well put, Father!

Saint Faustina, pray for us that we may seek & attain God's boundless mercy, unworthy as we are.

Warrior

Elijah is recovering from a nasty stomach bug that earned him a stay in the hospital.  Our brave little guy kept Pop company overnight.  He is regaining his energy and appetite.  Thank you for your prayers!
